About Us

PSB café was founded by Jessie and Matt, graduate students at Sheridan college. Jessie was brought up in a family of bakers and Matt is an experienced barista and is a coffee connoisseur. Both of them were very passionate with their learning and experience in their respective and wished to open their own cafe. That’s when they connect each other decided to join their hands and came up with a cafe named PSB Cafe.

Our Mission and Vision

Another key point of PSB café is that it has goal of serving variety in coffee and make their customers happy. They are trying to know what their customers like and can customize coffee accordingly. In there beverages menu they not only have coffee but there are other beverages as well such as Milkshake, Tea and Smoothies. Introducing flavored coffee which is rarely available in the market.

Sometimes the study rooms and school libraries just won’t do it. PSB café will provide you a perfect ambiance, with the aroma of brewed coffee, to drive your creativity and meet up with friends. We know that students need a quick bite and a boost of caffeine between classes. Our brewed coffee and freshly baked goods will suffice your caffeine fix and hunger pangs. Moreover, our coffee is sustainable using only sustainable business techniques and fair trade. Hence, we brew goodness.

About Us

Being former students at Sheridan College, we know exactly what it’s like to be a student. The inspiration for this café came from our family and our love for caffeine. Even though it started with a simple idea based on personal experiences and a passion for cafés and bakeries, it still took us 2 years to finally launch our cafés on the busiest campuses of Sheridan College.

It is our desire to give back to the community through our business by using sustainable techniques in all our business practices. We wish to give the best possible price to our customers with the maximum value for their spending, which we achieve by ensuring efficiency in our business operations. Our cafés will serve only organic, healthy food and cater to the personal needs of our customers with choices in milk, breads, and vegan options. We stand by our values of sustainability, organic food, and local flavors, which is why we say that we brew goodness and hold the potential to become the coffee culture and a central spot of Sheridan college where people meet, share, create, and relax.

Our Products

Our menu consists of single-origin freshly brewed coffee and baked goods. We have delicious baked goods to complement your choice of beverage, like Caramel Macchiato with a croissant. Not only do we offer our products in hot/cold and home-brewed flavours, but we also look after those who have dietary restrictions with our vegan and allergen-free options. We also offer healthy smoothies with festive flavour and hot chocolate. The best part is that our prices are student-friendly because we know that students are always living on a budget.

Sustainability and Efficiency

Our coffee is on a mission!

We are dedicated to continuously minimising the negative effects of our business operations on the environment which includes our café’s place, equipment, and production of our products. We look for opportunities to employ sustainable techniques in all our business practices.

We use single-origin coffee through fair trade to help our farmers whilst providing our customers with unique and local flavours. Learn more about it here.
We operate in a small and cozy space to increase efficiency and reduce the cost of the rent.
All our baked products are made at our café reducing the cost of procurement and transportation.
We also encourage our customers to bring their own reusable cups by offering them a discount on their beverage price.
PSB café’s cups and straws are made of 100% recyclable and biodegradable materials.
Our appliances are energy efficient (Energy Star).
These sustainable practices allow us to provide you with the minimum price for the products.

Reminisce in the memory of your childhood with the aroma of brewed coffee and baked goods from PSB Café. A café with a cozy ambiance that takes you down memory lane every time you enter it. PSB Café offers brewed coffee and baked goods at our brand-new locations.

The Origin of PSB Café

PSB Café is cofounded by Jessie and Matt, two alumni from the Pilon School of Business. From a young age, Jessie was influenced by her family and her passion for baking and opening her own bakery. Whereas Matt is an experienced barista and considers himself a coffee connoisseur. They both met during their undergraduate years at Sheridan College and discussed their life goals. Both Jessie and Matt wanted to pursue their passions and agreed to become partners for a future café business together. After graduating, they both worked towards their goal and found rental spaces at the Davis and HMC campuses of Sheridan College. Within a year and a half of planning and execution, they are finally ready to open the doors of PSB Café to students and staff of Sheridan College.

PSB Café operates in a small space to reduce its environmental footprint. The appliances we use are efficient and economical, minimizing the amount of energy lost. Reducing the cost spent on the rented space, allowed PSB Café to reduce the price of our products for our valued customers. Read more about PSB Café’s efficiency effort.

We make sure to consider all dietary restrictions by offering a wide variety of products year-round to choose from. For coffee drinkers, we offer milk alternatives such as oat, almond, pea, cashew, coconut, soy, and lactose-free. In addition to this, we have alternatives for individuals who prefer something other than coffee, such as chai, hot chocolate, and specialty green teas. For individuals with nut allergies, we make sure that our facilities and our products are kept nut-free.

Our Promise to You

The coffee bean is the main star of any coffee. That is why Matt selects the best organic, ethnically farmed coffee beans from a single source. The flavour profile and aroma of a single-sourced coffee bean are much more potent than an average coffee bean. In addition to this, We use clean, nongenetically modified ingredients, which are locally sourced for baked goods. If you have any questions, ask us in person or online at info@psbcafe.com. We are transparent about the ingredients that go into the coffee or goods our valued customers are purchasing.

Values of PSB Café

We use simple ingredients to make our products because food is essential, so why make it complicated. In addition to this sustainability is very important to companies, especially with global warming on the rise. To do our part in combating global warming we will be using cups that are made from recycled plastic, and biodegradable straws as well as paper cups for hot beverages. We love and care for our environment and whenever our customer can bring their own cup, they will get a slight discount for their effort. Read more about our sustainability effort here.
