What Do You Get?

Level One helps your company level up beyond accessing a free scouting and networking platform. This pre internship simulation is not just a game; it’s so much more:

  • Make talent scouting fun

Level One lets your company participate in a 4-month pre-internship experience to find and train Sheridan students for future opportunities. Learning (and training) is fun with simulated quests, rewards, and levels for networking, learning, and shadowing.

  • Create your own training modules

With Sheridan's host platform, creating your own, company-centric training modules is easy. Expose students to your work culture, technical knowledge, and networking style. Sheridan's in-house learning and recruitment experts will be there, every step of the way.

  • Match employees to students

Connect your employees to students for 1:1 consultations. Help students learn more about their dream roles, shadow employees, and network for rewards and certification. While students earn certifications for completing a Level One training quest, employees too can earn a badge of participation for their contributions.

  • An endless pipeline of talent

Level One is a conitnuous partnership that you can be a part of every semester including Spring. This will help your company continuously connect with talent and recruit them as needed.

  • Give back to the community

Participating in Level One can help your organization give back to the community, while helping shape the future leaders of tomorrow's workforce. A pre internship simulation can be more than just the experience: for Sheridan, it's also about building lasting relationships.

Why Participate In A Pre Internship Simulation?

Pre-internship simulations can be a great addition to a government company’s talent scouting process. Here are some proven benefits that you could bank on by being a part of a well-designed simulation involving students at a post-secondary level.

  • Reduce risk

Pre internship simulations can be structured test drives for both your company and participants. This can make the internship process and recruiting smoother.

  • Onboarding is made easy

By building a database of students through networking and interactions, your company can fastrack the recruiting and onboarding process, which usually takes between 6 and 8 weeks in a normal situation.

  • Customization and flexibility

Since most student-focused simulations are focused on the company, its tasks, and employees, there is a lot of customization and flexibility in simualtion programs for the companies who participate. This includes discretion over training modules and how they choose for employees to participate in the simulation.

Our Current Partners

Hear from Level One's Partners

Sheridan College’s Level One has been one of TPS’s best channels to scout young talent before the co-op and internship window opened up. This allowed our hiring and supervisory teams to connect with students and train them in anticipation of future roles. We were able to hire more than 15 students directly after Level One for our co-op positions, with 5 students landing full-time roles after.

Government agencies can benefit a lot from Sheridan’s Level One program. This simulation has helped us find the best young talent that universities and colleges have to offer for roles ranging from marketing and communications to IT and architecture.

We were able to network and connect with more than 100 students across 20 programs, out of which we hired 40 students. Of these, 20 students are returning for a second internship term, and seven full-time job offers have been made in Fall 2024. TTC’s employees find this to be a very beneficial part of their day, and take joy in connecting personally with young talent.

Will my company always get a cohort of students?

Each participating company is guaranteed a cohort of 15 students per semester. Depending on the number of participating employees, this number goes up. Level One requires a minimum of 10 employees to participate from each partner organization.

Is Level One exclusive to government agencies?

Yes, Level One is Sheridan College’s exclusive recruitment and pre internship simulation/initiative that works towards building lasting relationships with government agencies in the GTA and beyond.

Is my company obligated to give jobs to every partipating Sheridan student?

No, Sheridan College does not compel partners to hire Level One participants for future co-op or internship opportunities. The hope of the program is to create a cohort of trained students who will be able to improve their resumes and tackle any challenges in their career, while making them ready to apply for jobs and connect with employees/companies that they are interested in working with.
